Bees and Wasps can be deadly to people in America. People who are allergic to bees and wasps may end up having a serious medical condition or an allergic reaction. When trying to remove a hive, remember to wear protective clothing. There are many different types of bees common in the US: Carpenter Bees, Bumble Bees, Yellow Jackets, and Mud Daubers. Carpenter Bees can cause damage to your home by nesting inside the wood of your structure such as the siding, roof, and wooden decks/patios. Bees and wasps are helpful to humans as well, because they pollinate plants.
Depending on the bee and wasp, their nests location may vary. You may check in trees, bushes, on the ground next to your house, in your attics, under your gutters, in your sidings for small holes.
For bees and wasps, please apply in the evening when they are at rest to make sure that you treat them all at once. When treating the wasp and bee hives do not stand directly underneath the hive. Instead, avoid the opening of the hive when you are treating it because that only increases the chance of being stung.
This treatment is generally applied with a liquid spray (MASTERLINE BIFENTHRIN, SUSPEND SC, CYPER WP, DEMON WP), dust (DELTA DUST, DRIONE DUST), and aerosols (V ONE PYRETHRUM , STINGRAY WASP & HORNET SPRAY,PT WASP-FREEZE AEROSOL, JK27 RESIDUAL). They are to be applied on small cracks and crevices in a structure for a bee might enter or build its nest near. When using liquid spray application (MASTERLINE BIFENTHRIN, SUSPEND SC, CYPER WP, DEMON WP), you will need to have a pressure sprayer or a gallon sprayer (CHAPIN 1 GALLON SPRAYER). You will need to apply using the amount that is directed on the label and may need to reapply if needed. You will have to use a low pressure system with a pinpoint or variable patter nozzle to apply the spray mixture to areas such as cracks and crevices, in and around baseboards, walls, areas around water and sewer pipes, and cracks and crevices outside of your home. The dust application is simple. However, when using dust please be cautious particularly when children and pets are present. Use the dust only in areas where they cannot reach contact with. Both of the dusts, DELTA DUST and DRIONE DUST, will need to be used with a BELLOW DUSTER or a CENTROBULB DUSTER . When using a BELLOW DUSTER or a CENTROBULB DUSTER for DELTA DUST and DRIONE DUST, you will need to fill the duster with the dust as directed in the label and apply DELTA DUST and DRIONE DUST to voids or channels in damaged wooden member of the structure, to cracks, spaces or bearing joints between the wood members of the structure, or in the holes of the hives. Apply lightly and uniformly to infested area. DO NOT OVER USE DUST. For aerosol products (V ONE PYRETHRUM , STINGRAY WASP & HORNET SPRAY,PT WASP-FREEZE AEROSOL, JK27 RESIDUAL), it is highly recommended to apply them as a crack and crevice treatment into cracks, crevices, and voids, where bees and wasps may be traveling and/or harboring, including but not limited to, around doors, window frames, wall voids and other structural crack and crevices which can possibly count as an entry point.
This treatment is generally used for large turf or other landscape areas and contains directions for specific amounts of the product to be applied as a liquid spray (MASTERLINE BIFENTHRIN, SUSPEND SC, CYPER WP, DEMON WP) to a given area. Broadcast treatments are usually for the entire lawn. In this case, when you cannot find the bee and wasp's nest. Applications should be made in the late evening when insects are at rest. For this treatment, we suggest a 1 gallon sprayer for the application of liquid spray (CHAPIN 1 GALLON SPRAYER). Following the directions on the label, you would spray the entire lawn with the solution.
For this application, we suggest you use a gallon sprayer (CHAPIN 1 GALLON SPRAYER). Then you will need to mix a liquid formula by following the label directions and then applying the entire volume of the mixed liquid directly to the hive on the ground (MASTERLINE BIFENTHRIN, SUSPEND SC, CYPER WP, DEMON WP). It will take approximately 1-2 gallons of dilution for each hive area. Spray the hive until wet and apply a 4 foot diameter circle around the hive. Applications should be made in the evenings when the bees and wasps are resting. You can also use aerosol formulas (V ONE PYRETHRUM , STINGRAY WASP & HORNET SPRAY,PT WASP-FREEZE AEROSOL, JK27 RESIDUAL). At night, do not shine the light directly into the entrance of the hive. Hold the container in straight upside position and stand at least 6-15 ft from the nest. Align the opening with the mark on the cap and aim the actuator opening towards the nest. Spray the nest until thoroughly wet.
This treatment is to be recommended to use when you have an infestation in an area that you cannot reach such as inside walls, blocks, or other structural voids to treat for bee and wasp activity within by drilling a small hole if needed; you can remove electric outlet cover and use the space to treat inside voids. Dust (DELTA DUST, DRIONE DUST) and aerosol formulas (V ONE PYRETHRUM , STINGRAY WASP & HORNET SPRAY,PT WASP-FREEZE AEROSOL, JK27 RESIDUAL) are generally preferred here. If you find a hole on the side outside of your home, insert the tip of the duster with an extender (BELLOW DUSTER, CENTROBULB DUSTER ) containing the dust into the hole and use as directed. Using the aerosol formula (V ONE PYRETHRUM , STINGRAY WASP & HORNET SPRAY,PT WASP-FREEZE AEROSOL, JK27 RESIDUAL), be cautious and carefuel because aerosol is a liquid so keep distance from electric outings, use only dust near them. You will just need to attach a thin straw to the nozzle depending on the product, and spray into the void.
