Gourmet Ant Bait Gel has 6% Disodium octaborate tetrahydrate (DOT) as the active ingredient. DOT is less repellent then other Boron based toxicants and is more effective at eliminating both the workers and queens in active ant colonies than many other products. Recent studies show that foraging ants take only 1/4 as much food in gel form as compared to feeding on liquids, Therefore, Gourmet Ant Bait Gel's DOT delivered to the colony is about the same as in a 1-2% liquid bait. Gel baits tend to dry out quickly unless placed in an Ant Cafe, so small placements should not be relied upon for control.

Advance 375A Select Granular Ant Bait Granular's formulation provides all the dietary needs of a carpenter ant. The slow action formulation lets the ants feed on the bait and gives them enough time to travel with the bait back and forth to its colony. This is the most effective way to trigger the queen ant.
