HOW to GET RID of CENTIPEDE

Centipedes are usually brown, flat, and elongate with many body segments. They have one pair of legs attached to most of their body segments. Centipedes differ from millipedes because millipedes have 2 pairs of legs on most segments and the bodies are not flat. If Centipedes are not controlled in time, then larger Centipedes can bite and a physician should be seen if the bite went through the skin. Centipedes are nocturnal. Centipedes are around 1-6� and House Centipedes are about 1-1/2�. House Centipedes are grey-yellow with three stripes down the back and have long legs banded with white.

CENTIPEDE INSPECTION

Centipedes are usually found in damp and moist places. They can be located under leaves, stones, bodes, tree bark, mulch surrounding outdoor planting, cellars, closets, bathrooms, attics, and not used areas under the house, storage location, crawl spaces, baseboards, eaves, patios, refuse dumps, garages, and porches.

CENTIPEDE CONTROL METHODS

Crack and Crevice Treatments:

Crack and crevice treatment is to be used where Centipedes may crawl through into the home (i.e. closets, bathrooms, attics, baseboards, storage location, and garages). You can use this treatment using liquid spray (CYNOFF WP, CYPER WP, DEMON WP, CYONARA 9.7, MASTERLINE BIFENTHRIN) using a hand sprayer (CHAPIN 1 GALLON SPRAYER), dust (DELTA DUST, DRIONE DUST) using a duster (BELLOWBULB DUSTER, CENTROBULB DUSTER), or aerosol (CY-KICK AEROSOL, JK27 RESIDUAL, D- FORCE HPX). Using the instructed amounts for liquid spray (CYNOFF WP, CYPER WP, DEMON WP, CYONARA 9.7, MASTERLINE BIFENTHRIN), you will need a pinpoint nozzle on the hand sprayer (CHAPIN 1 GALLON SPRAYER) and for dust (DELTA DUST, DRIONE DUST) you will need a duster (BELLOWBULB DUSTER, CENTROBULB DUSTER) and apply around doors, windows, cracks and crevices. The same application goes for aerosol products (CY-KICK AEROSOL, JK27 RESIDUAL, D- FORCE HPX).

Broadcast/Barrier Treatment:

Broadcasting treatments are used for large turfs, other landscape areas, and the whole entire lawn. Following the directions for the use on specific amounts of the product to be applied as a liquid spray (CYNOFF WP, CYPER WP, DEMON WP, CYONARA 9.7, MASTERLINE BIFENTHRIN) using a hand one gallon sprayer (CHAPIN 2 GALLONS SPRAYER), granule (BIFEN GRANULES) using a hand spreader (HANDLE SPREADER). Use the amount instructed for the liquid spray (CYNOFF WP, CYPER WP, DEMON WP, CYONARA 9.7, MASTERLINE BIFENTHRIN), use a mist nozzle setting and treat the entire lawn. For the granule application, use the amount instructed on the label and using the spreader (HANDLE SPREADER), spread the whole entire lawn, large turfs, and other landscape areas (i.e. under leaves, stones, bodes, tree bark, mulch surrounding outdoor planting and not used areas under the house) and then irrigate the lawn to activate the granules. A barrier treatment is used when you want to make a “zone� around your home. These treatments are applied by liquid spray (CYNOFF WP, CYPER WP, DEMON WP, CYONARA 9.7, MASTERLINE BIFENTHRIN) using a hand sprayer (CHAPIN 1 GALLON SPRAYER) and granule (BIFEN GRANULES) using a hand spreader (HANDLE SPREADER). These are sometimes called a perimeter treatment, where soil areas are adjacent to a structure as well as a portion of the lower foundation wall next to the soil treated. You will treat the barrier treatment (i.e. cellars, crawl spaces, patios, refuse dumps, garages, porches) as same as a broadcast treatment except that you only need to treat around the home instead of the whole lawn.
